Statement of faith
“Grow healthy disciples, Life Groups and churches which are full of love.”
This we will strive to achieve through Jesus centred discipleship in the following areas:
1. Coolangatta Christian Church exists to:
Love God
Love Each Other
Love those who don’t yet know Jesus
Move Forward by planting Life Groups and Life Group Based Churches
2. Doctrine
The fellowship holds as an essential part of its belief “Evangelical Doctrines,” as set forth in the Declaration of Principle of Queensland Baptists.
The Divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Scriptures in the Old and New Testaments.
The existence of one God in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Deity and incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God.
The fallen, sinful nature of humankind, and the desire of Jesus Christ to redeem all people.
The salvation of people from the power of sin, through the perfect obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
The immediate work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of people, in their sanctification and in their preservation to the Heavenly Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
7. All gifts of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit available and functioning today, useful in building up the church and advancing the Kingdom of God.
8. In order to receive salvation, the necessity of reconciliation with God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, completely under God’s grace.
9. The resurrection of the dead and the final judgment of all people by the Lord Jesus Christ. We don’t know the exact specifics of how this will happen; but we have assurance that as Christians, we have nothing to fear.
10. The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ; namely, Baptism and Communion, which are of perpetual obligation. Baptism being the immersion of Believers upon the profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and a symbol of the fellowship of the regenerate in His death, burial, and resurrection. Communion being a memorial until He comes of the sacrifice of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ
